    Thank you for all your break downs brother. I’m glad to hear sub at least got some steps in the right direction. At least have his ex ice ball comboable FFS! 😆 but yeah, NRS LISTEN UP! Make sub viable! If scorpion can combo into spear, sub should be able to combo into ice ball. Period.

      I'm not in favor of adding more 50/50s to the game at all. All Sub really needs are the buffs I'm suggesting here - and perhaps some gap closures, better damage scaling and less Klone recovery. We don't need him to be scrubby.

      @@damionbaxter4912 Scorpion got a new string, which in reality, was a different ender to a preexisting string. And Quan got a portal that is merely a different color than his other portals. It's more likely that NRS would take a move that is already in the game and give it new utility rather than animating an entirely new move.

    Yeah, no. His buffs make him a bit better by a margin. Ending the 1 2 3 string does absolutely nothing as opposed to going into a kameo or ice cloning. As for 3 2 recovery, the only thing that MIGHT come out of it is that it helps mix ups. You cant really use f1 2 3 for a good kameo confirm without mileena khame or a niche kameo that wont help him in other areas except those confirms.

      So, having an extra safe option for opponents to consider after F12 is nothing to you?? Giving the character a comboing 50/50 situation from his only mid string with multiple Kameos, including his very best one, Khameleon is nothing to you??? Perhaps you should actually play the character with these new buffs first before rushing to judgement. Also, Sub-Zero doesn't have a 3-2 string.

    Not being able to combo off of footsie strings without a resource isn’t a problem. Raiden can’t do it either and I’m sure there are more examples. Idk if this is what you meant, but normal deadly vapors giving you enough hit advantage to combo into another jab string would be cool and make sense, but I don’t think it should combo into back 2. Ice ball isn’t supposed to be a combo tool, especially because of the other special moves he has. Comparing it to previous ice balls is just flawed thinking. It’s simply a projectile that can win trades against other projectiles and combo off of one that hits. Maybe it could still use a slight buff, but it does NOT need to be able to combo off of strings. I’m not saying Sub zero is one of the best characters in the game by any means and I agree he could use love with some more buffs, but I don’t think you really understand or appreciate the tools that sub zero has that no other characters have.

      The tools he has leaves you no way to open up your opponent. A skilled player can easily punish all his special moves if ready. Some characters can punish him from full screen away on reaction. He needs a lot of help.

      I fully understand and appreciate what Sub-Zero has - I play him. What's more is that I have always played him in literally every MK game, including the very first MK1. I readily acknowledged what does work well with him, but he has two moves that are all but useless, including Ice Ball. You say that it isn't supposed to be a combo tool; this would be fine if it had clear utility as something else. But it doesn't - it doesn't help control the neutral because most of the time the player gets hit while trying to do it. Because it's so slow, it does not win trades against other projectiles at all; not even the EX-version, which is supposed to eat other projectiles. If it were remade to behave like Reptile's Slow Forceball, then that would make sense - but that's not what we see in the game. It has no other role in this game in its current form because it occupies the exact same niche that prior Iceballs did but doesn't have the favorable frame data that the prior ones did. Comparing it to other Ice Balls is logical and appropriate because it's a move that has not only returned to MK1 without being distinct from prior versions, but because the game itself is very clearly modeled after MK9 but with a twist. Also, when a character needs meter or Kameo to combo from their best strings - and then gets mediocre damage - it is problematic because it restricts what the character can do. If the character was an expert at controlling space like Tanya or Reiko, then this isn't as much of an issue. But when the character has jumpable projectiles, plus an Ice Clone that has a lengthy cool down and gets roughly 17% from an AA when others get a minimum of 25%, having your combo damage governed by the resources that you have on hand is highly problematic, which is why the character barely sees any kind of tournament action unless paired with Khameleon. Raiden, by contrast, can either do F34 or 34 and combo people with no resource. But in addition to that, he has extremely quick movement, plus frames, multiple safe mid strings, including a staggerable low string that low-profiles and is safe, and has a safe overhead that only comes out on hit as a conditioning tool. And then he has both a teleport and a fantastic projectile that can either be shot quickly or be charged and hit 6 times. Not to mention he has a 4-hit string that can be staggered at any hit and is not only safe but leads to terrific damage also. For these reasons, Raiden is still nothing less than top-tier, tournament viable character who can win with multiple Kameos; Sub-Zero isn't in that same position. One more thing, when did I state that Deadly Vapors should combo into B2??? I only want it to combo into his footsie strings - the EX Deadly Vapors already combos into B2. I'll say this - if you don't play Sub-Zero, do not come up in here telling people that have played Sub-Zero for literal decades about what he has and doesn't have as if we're not aware. We play a character with hordes of gaps in his primary strings, who can get blown up for performing any of his special moves, including the one that is supposed to control space mid-screen and had middling damage without the ability to hit the opponent more times than the opponent to make up for it. Yet all I'm asking for is a useful Deadly Vapors and a faster Ice Ball.

      She's a good Kameo certainly. But I think she's actually better with Scorpion than with Sub. Sub-Zero struggles to get his B2 after her overhead, so he has to do F12.

    buff ideas, spread the word Havoc: He needs at least five new attack strings, he needs his legacy move that titan havoc has were he takes off his head and rolls it but its a mid, has the same affect as reptiles acid ball, and also hits mid exploding on contact. he also needs another one of his legacy moves that again titan havoc has where he bends his hole body for a low projectile and the amp of that can be a knock down allowing for combo extentions for cameos like scorpion Sub-zero: he needs his attack strings made slightly faster except for his overhead, he also needs 1or 2 new attack string launchers, both his regular and amp iceball needs to be faster to not only be able to combo with it off of normal attack strings but in juggle combos too. He should have the ability to throw his ice clone, i also think he should have his ice burst special back with the same proporties as mkx to compliment his ice clone(but just does not send you that far away). lastly he needs some of his damage scailing off ground freeze. Scorpion: should be buffed by making his amp ground tp a launcher again and make the cancel built in to both his regular and amp tp. he needs new strings some mix ups(i personally want his mkx overhead back). some moves need to be sped up Quan shi: needs his mind control move from mkx back, and make half his attack strings faster. and finally his low tentacle needs to be one bar Raiden: change raiden's b2 back to the mkx launcher but make it as slow as sub'z b2. give him back his vicinity blast move back with the same properties as mkx. he also needs to be buffed by making his amp electrocute special launch no matter how many bars he uses liu kang: for starters nerf his f4 one button pressure but give him his 113 mkx launcher back along with maybe one or two more new attack strings. make his low fireball slightly faster, change his air fireball to the mkx fireball and the amp the one we have now. give him back his mk 11 dragon parry, and finally make his fatal blow start up 2 hits but the first one restands y'all stay tune i got more heat for every character

      These are indeed interesting ideas for charcter buffs. I certainly think characters do need buffs, but not anything that will make them braindead 50/50 vortex machines. Any buffs that give characters new layers of gameplay that are exclusive to them only and also have built-in counterplay are fine by me. Anything beyond that and it's no for me.

    NRS is one of the worst gaming companies I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I’ve never seen a company consistently drop the ball the way they do. To say this is the worst MK is obviously unfair because it’s been the best MK they’ve made since returning to 2D but it’s not a great by any stretch of the imagination. Is it fun? Sure. Is it actually a good game? Absolutely not lol. I’ve never been more frustrated playing a fighting game like I have with NRS games. They just have no clue how to make a good and balanced fighter. Now it’s even worse because 95% of their staff is DEI hires but they’re just the worst. I can’t stand what they did with the story either, they have basically run the story into the ground. It’ll be awhile before NRS makes a new MK but I’m getting too old for this bs anyways. This may be the last MK or NRS game I ever play. SF6 has been nothing but amazing. I still think SF4 was the best SF game they ever made and miss the FA but I do appreciate what SF6 has done with the drive gauge system and parry button. I’ve had a lot of fun with the world tour mode and imagine this game will be around for awhile, so it’s best for me to just invest my time in that game if I have some free time. I’m done with MK and NRS in general and the problem is everyone complains but still continues to give them their money which is why they keep releasing all this garbage.

      I appreciate you looking at my video and leaving a comment, but I cannot abide such hyperbole. You say that NRS is one of the worst gaming companies you've seen? 2K would like a word with you. EA would like a word with you. Nintendo would like a word with you. And those are just the companies that I can think of off the top of the dome. There are companies that are far worse by comparison. The fact is, that until this game, NRS has consistently released high-quality fighting games every 2 years from 2011 until 2023. These games had full arcade modes, a full Story mode, some of the best netcode in the business available from the first day and then each game had a completely different meta from every other game made before and after. Tekken and Street Fighter are just now catching up. And as far as the game being good, I wouldn't conflate a game being complete with it being good. MK11 was a complete package but given how restricted and confounding its gameplay and mechanics were, it's very easy to argue that it was not a good game. MK1 has the exact opposite problem - the gameplay is awesome but the game is either missing or lacking in critical features. But that doesn't stop it from being a good game. Also, I'm not sure what criteria you are using to consider a game 'balanced' but MK1 is objectively the most balanced MK game and likely the most balanced FG out right now. The fact of the matter is that tournament players have either gotten Top 8, been in the Finals with or have won tournaments with every character but one in the entire game - Li Mei. This means that you can take any character in the game and fight the rest of the cast with them in a tournament and place high there, even if some characters have to work harder than others do. That is the very definition of balance. Are there still bad matchups for some characters? Certainly. But that doesn't mean the game isn't balanced. At the novice level, which is where 99.99% of online players are, you can pick any character in MK1 you want, take them online and win lots of matches against the entire cast. That is the very definition of balance. MK1's story is much better than the stories of both MKX and MK11 making it easily the best one since MK9. There are mishaps certainly, but in terms of composing a solid narrative, building relatable characters that you want to see win and setting up the next game, it scores big. I have no issue with you and others being frustrated with NRS and MK1 - they frustrate me too. But stepping up in this comment section and using it to spew misplaced vitriol at NRS when that company is controlled by a scumbag corporation, Warner Brothers whose insistence on releasing a Mortal Kombat game in 2023 whether or not NRS was even ready to drop it is the likely reason that MK1 hasn't matched the quality of its predecessors, is several bridges too far. There are very few game companies that are complaint-free. Especially not Capcom and Bandai Namco who had to be dragged kicking and screaming to finally have fighting games with serviceable netcode after years of being outdone by the same game company that you just said is the one of the worst you've ever seen in your life. I noticed that you didn't mention SF5 - Capcom released that game in much the same way that NRS dropped MK1. On release, both games paled in comparison in terms of features and to a lesser extent, gameplay, to its competitors. They both released with controversial mechanics that were widely lambasted by their fanbases, but slowly over years and years of time, SF5 became a much better game than how it began. MK1 is in that stage now. More importantly, the mistakes of SF5 led directly to Capcom releasing their best game yet, SF6. NRS is likely in that stage now.

You can’t properly balance MK games because the game doesn’t have a design where characters have definitive styles. Every character is basically a utility character and the games optimized structure of play is based on juggle combos. There are no styles. U don’t have grapplers, u don’t have strict zoners, u don’t have rush down styles. U just have a game full of utility characters and the character with the most powerful utilities is ultimately the most powerful character. What have you been watching buddy? Lol the whole tournament last weekend Sonic won was Johnny/Kham or Peacemaker/Kham maybe a Janet thrown in there too, like wtf are u talking about??? Also I wanna reiterate by saying I did give mk1 its credit. This is the best MK and really fighting game NRS has ever made but it’s not saying anything because they make the worst fighting games ever. MK1 is fun but to even think for a second it’s balanced is because of a lack of experience with other fighting games. I can’t speak for T8 because I haven’t played much of it but what I have played is far more balanced than mk1 and that’s with the whole heat system included. Sf is balanced because characters have true strengths and weakness. If someone can zone as well as Dhalsim then they’re not gonna have the same health and mobility as Ken. That’s his weakness, sure he can teleport but his mobility is still bad unless he’s teleporting. Zangief can kill you with 2-3 reads but guess what? His mobility isn’t good and he’s a huge, slow target. MK isn’t like this at all and that’s fine but that’s why it’s unbalanced. Every character typically has a fireball, containment special, teleport, and rekka. How is that going to promote proper balance?

MK games archetypes aren't as rigidly defined as SFs, but proclaiming that because that is the case, this means that MK doesn't have archetypes is horribly inaccurate. And since when does a game having lots of different archetypes make it well-balanced? Balance has nothing to do with how varied the styles of the characters are - it has to do with how well those styles translate into the meta of the game and how easy it is for characters to win at the highest level. A game could have just 3 archetypes and be well-balanced, whereas a second game could have 5 archetypes and have terrible balance. Again, balance has to do with the tournament viability between the best characters and the worst characters in a game. If the worst characters in a game are still winning lots of Top 8s or better, the game is well-balanced, no matter what archetype they have. Speaking of tournaments, I did indeed watch Final Kombat. But I have also watched Pro Komp, Tampa Never Sleeps, R1P's Arena as well as the independent events held by both Destroyer and Slayer. When you watch all of those tournaments and see the variety of characters that place Top 8 or win, it's easy to see that virtually any character can win because that has been the pattern in MK1. One tournament does not define the balance of an entire game - the exclusion of merely one player (let alone several) could dramatically shift the results and therefore influence peoples' perception of the cast. But back to characters and strengths/weaknesses, even in your beloved SF6, the best characters are top-tier for the exact same reasons that characters are top-tier in MK - either they have no real weaknesses or their weaknesses are offset by either the meta or their strengths. Let's not pretend as though SF6 didn't just recently exit a lengthy period of people dominating the tournament scene with Ken, JP and Luke. It's no different than people in MK1 winning with Johnny Cage, Sindel or Kenshi. Yet I will wager that if you look at all the tournament results from 2024 alone for MK1, you will see at least half of the cast represented in the Top 8s of all those tournaments. Possibly even 2/3 of it. That is the definition of balance. Finally, every character in MK does not have a fireball, teleport, capture special and rekka. It's true that most characters have a fireball, but they all have different properties. Less than half the cast has a teleport, but virtually all of those teleports are full-combo punished on block. MK doesn't do links, so yes, many characters have some kind of special that either captures or juggles - that's an MK thing. And virtually nobody has rekkas in this game or franchise. You can count the number of characters on a single hand that have some kind of rekka functionality. From the sounds of it, you are so accustomed to the SF style that anything that doesn't fit that paradigm is foreign to you. That has nothing to do with how good/bad MK is. Listen, it's okay to prefer one style of fighting game over another. If you prefer the way that SF does its gameplay and characters, that's cool. But that doesn't make games like MK inferior to it. It is a logical fallacy to presume that one's favorite thing is also the very best version of that thing that exists. It is indeed possible to love SF without putting MK down. A person that cannot do that is a tribalist fanboy. I hope that doesn't describe you.

      Thank you for the kind words. I would say this: the character/gameplay designers need to have a comprehensive vision for how they want the game to play and how each individual character/Kameo is supposed to play. From there, they can tailor every normal, string and special to fit that vision. For instance, Johnny Cage is an example of cohesive character design - he's a rushdown character whose win condition is that he gets in and bullies people with his plus frames and fast mid. By contranst, Reiko is an example of disjointed character design - he's supposed to be grappler but has super long-range normals, a slide, the best projectile in the whole game that armor-breaks and a single command grab that only gets used in combos. He makes no sense as an archetype. I'm not sure how NRS makes use of pro players like 16-Bit, Dizzy, PimpimJim and others, but it's clear that they need to take many more cues from them, as well as from the best players, so long as they are objective and unbiased.

    Amazing ideas in these comments. Khameleon needs to be nerfed heavily. Overhead needs to be slower. Glaive needs to be a regular projectile with more recovery. If you hold it, it’ll be the normal one and takes all of her meter. And all of her cooldowns need to be reworked. Buff more kameos and characters. Like actually do shit with the game? This patch could’ve been out BEFORE FINAL KOMBAT. Why is cyrax nerfed again? Shit makes no sense. We had to play a buggy ass game for two weeks, as if it isn’t bugged enough. I’ve been so positive with this game but I’m just done. As an MK shill myself, it’s ridiculous.

      See, but that's what I don't want - for Khameleon or anybody else, for that matter to get hit with the nerf bat. Her cooldowns are fine and ought to be the standard for everyone else. The Jade glaive should have more risk on whiff, be a little bit slower and not hit twice on block or whiff. I'm not trying to stop people from choosing her; I'm trying to stop people from feeling like in order to win at the highest level, they can only choose her. In order for that to occur, her most egregious aspects need to be toned down, while every other Kameo needs to be buffed to her level.

    Love the Video and love the points your making! Looking back I think we should've made the video a bit longer to extend certain topics and talk about it in more detail. I honestly think we're in a situation, where making it right for everyone is close to impossible. Finding the balance for the competitive scene & casual viewerbase is insanely hard and both need each other to exist. Generally speaking I'm just happy that a lot of different people share their opinion and that a lot of people do care about the game. Speaking as a content creator who has seen the impact of a dry meta: I PERSONALLY (and it's perfectly fine if people disagree) want to see a more neutral based meta. I'd have a complete different approach to the Kameo System, which is ofc unrealistic. I'd slightly tone (yes nerf) the top 1% of the Kameos, because they're offering too much "Auto-Gameplay". At the same time we need heavy buffs on every other aspect of the cast, including characters / summon kameos and buff them to that new slightly toned down "top-level". Then we have a fighting game, which is worth watching. Buffing lowtier characters to the current TOP-Level would mean they have to offer the same utility. And right now that Utility is: Auto-neutral, Nonstop-Safety with very minimal cooldown , which results in the worst repetetive gameplay possible (my opinion again). Raiden/Kano nearly killed my events (which is crowdfunded) in the early days. Even though players had a blast with it, the viewers just find it boring. No matter what Pro/competitive players say: The casuals are the BACKBONE of the Pro Scene

      Wow, thank you for watching this!!!! I love what you have been doing for the MK scene, especially now. I fully agree with you when you say that it's impossible for NRS to please both the competitors and the casuals even as both of them need each other to exist. I also agree that I want a more neutral-based meta where auto-gameplay options are rare and brief. I would totally accept some slight tweaks to the cheapest aspects of the top-tier characters, like what we've been getting from Johnny Cage. Meanwhile, the bottom 15 characters should see substantial buffs so that they become as good (for the same reasons) as a character like Kitana is. And I've made a video detailing exactly how each of the unused Kameos should be buffed. The only point of slight disagreement from me is the level of deference to the casuals. For you, the casuals keep your thing going, so you're implicitly encouraged to advocate for things that appease them. The only issue is this: there is no appeasing casuals in MK games. If it were up to them, the entire cast would be watered down to MK11 levels and worse because the vast majority of them can't handle the most basic components of FGs. Having said that, their opinion is important, so I don't advocate for ignoring them. But NRS should make sure that every strong character, move and Kameo have some kind of counter-play so that casual whining can be mitigated, and gameplay doesn't look too repetitive. That's about all the influence that I want the casuals to have on MK's gameplay - they consistently call for the most annoying characters to be killed competitively, even if those characters aren't top tier. Where casuals can do the most good in MK games is with the offline modes and costumes - NRS needs to do everything in its power to appease them in those areas. Keep their influence as far from the gameplay as humanly possible because they can't be objective and reasonable. Nonetheless, thank you again for watching and replying to me! I have been a long-time viewer of your events, I enjoy your voice and enthusiasm for the game and encourage you not only to keep on going, but also to keep making MK1 meta videos not only so that I can look at them and react, but more importantly so that the community can learn.

    We need buffs and nerfs, that are rationally distributed. Looking at the last major patches for T8 and SF6, they outlined what they wanted to do with each character and how that fit into the game. NRS simply responds to what people are complaining about online. They need to do what they think is right for the game instead of following the kneejerk reactions to major tournaments. Like Cyrax as he was at Final Kombat isn't 3/4s of what he was at the beginning of the game. We would have been fine with that version of Cyrax. I just don't know if NRS has it in them. It takes deep analysis to tune all the tools in a fighting game. And I am not sure if WB gives them the resources to make those changes.

      That's an amazing point right there; it really does seem as though NRS has visions for how some characters are supposed to play, like Johnny. But then others, like Rain seem to not have a clear vision, which is why he was touted as the game's premier zoner but can't zone with a damn. In order to articulate their vision for the game and its characters, they gotta communicate with us much more frequently than these Kombat Kasts. You are dead-on about Cyrax - the character was barely even used at Final Kombat but got killed more than Khameleon did. Not to say that Khameleon should have been nerf-batted, but just that Cyrax shouldn't have.

      @@mrAPchem If Johnny and Peacemaker (after multiple nerfs), as well as characters like Ashrah, Tanya, Reiko, Kitana, and a few others are the standard of strength then try to get characters to that level. But at the same time if you have a character like Ashrah, where people rarely use her darkmode, you have to buff her dark mode and balance the rest of her kit to incentivize its use; or in the case of Reiko, if everyone is using your best grappler as a zoner then you buff his grappling and nerf his shurikens (though not into the ground) to allow for more player expression. This is exactly what SF and Tekken did and it made their games better. There is no problem with strength. Khameleon/Janet/Movado (especially pre-nerf)/Cyrax as he was during Final Kombat/Kano feel like they are exactly how Kameos are supposed to function. And if Sereena loses value because you make Khameleon you have to buff certain characteristics that differentiate her from the Jade version of Khameleon. But unfortunately I just don't know what to expect from NRS.

      Thank you so much!!!! The way you love Raiden - from way back in the day - is how I love Sub-Zero. I've played that character ever since the SNES version of MK1 and will always play him. But back to Raiden, he's still a strong character with great normals/strings, amazing movement and a teleport. Storm Cell took him over the top, but even without it, he's still fundamentally strong. Now he needs something of his own that is fun and viable like Storm Cell was but has some consistent counter-play for the opponent. Nonetheless, I agree with you - give players the tools with every character, tone down some of the most egregious ones, but keep everything else and let us cook with our stuff. Stop with this predilection towards nerfs.

    I think it’s the silly mistakes that irritate me the most about this game. They will will recognize that Raiden’s Superman needed reworking but not touch peacemakers startup or recovery frames. I think most mistakes they’ve made with this game have just been silly ones that you can see from a mike away that it won’t work. Because it just simple math but also it’s mistakes they’ve already in the past.

    I learned sub in beta, nerfed, scorpion, gravity nerf, learned raiden, nerfed, used raiden cyrax, both nerfed/nerfed again nerfed,raiden goro, goro nerfed, raiden kano, kano nerf, learned raiden kamelion, kamelion nerf, learned reptile, bugged nerf for 2 weeks. Idek know what to play anymore. I learned liu lao but Laos been nerfed twice, liu kamelion and she's nerfed, lao goro but goros nerfed and kitana cyrax but cyrax is nerfed. Held out in learning Johnny cuz they're obviously gonna nerf him right?.... right?

      Daaaaaamnnnn. So, you've experienced the DJT effect where every time he picks up a character and starts beating people with them, that character winds up getting nerfed! In my case, my character began the game in a nerfed state - Sub-Zero. And then some others like Cage got directly nerfed and then more of them get indirectly nerfed by hurting their preferred Kameo.

      I wouldn't go that far. They did have good balance choices in this patch, but they also had some dubious ones as well. And no explanation for any of it.

    I wish your videos were shorter man. 42 minutes is really really long. When I first came across your Sub-Zero videos they were a lot shorter and you could gain the information you need at a faster pace. Very valuable information that wasn't known so I tuned in. You actually have had some really good videos and really good input but some of these videos I don't understand why the videos are so long. A lot of what you say can be said in 15 to 20 minutes tops. The last video on the breakdown of R1p Arena was also in the 40 minute range. I just tune out after a while cause you make your point pretty quickly. I get it and then I just move on to the next video without completing the video. If it was a tier list breakdown then I get it or if you are breaking down multiple matches then I would get it but I am listening and I just eventually go to videos that say what you are saying at a faster pace. People such as Nickopz, Honeybee, Tom Brady they are doing very similar videos to you breaking down patches or the state of the game and they do it in 13 minutes to 22 minutes tops. I want to watch all your content but the length makes it harder for me to do it. You can do what you want and I am not telling you how to put out your content so I say what I say with all due respect. I can only hope you scale it back. Then I would be more likely to watch the entire video. Keep up the faith on Sub-Zero. I always loved watching your videos for the unique costumes you would have.       If you'd like to know why my videos are lengthier than others, perhaps you can gain a clue from your own comment. The entirety of your comment was summarized in the very first sentence that you typed. However, you took the time to explain your thought process and reasoning and even gave a bit of background on your viewer history of my videos. You even supported your claim with evidence not just from my videos, but other creators' videos as well. And finally, you made sure to punctuate your comment so that it didn't read like a big wall of text and is therefore easy to follow. Can you see how doing all that takes extra time? Your comment only had one thing to say - my videos are too long for you. Yet this video of mine, as well as most of my other videos, isn't just making a single point - it's making several. And on this video in particular, I had a nuanced take about the patch rather than proclaiming it as either all good or all bad, which doesn't take very long to do. Nuance takes time, especially when trying to provide as much evidence and clarity to back up one's claims as possible along with addressing counter-arguments simultaneously. I appreciate your honest feedback and support of my videos. I record and let the chips fall where they may. If that does not suit you, then I certainly can understand.

      @@Femboy.4492 if it came across that way then it wasn't my intention. I was trying to be as respectful as I could. It was my intention to give constructive criticism. However I respect @mrAPchem and his answer. In reality it's a me problem. It's his channel and he can run it how he wants. As a man I can recognise when people want to do things their way and it's his channel. It's up to me to find what I want to find content wise. That's why I said I wish him the best. I gave feedback because I really liked the player 2 bug that he found early in MK1's lifespan. I actually subscribed off of that content and I liked the Sub-Zero content he provided. I could of kept my comments to myself and kept it moving and perhaps I should of. That's my bad. I did at the end of my original comment say that I hope that I didn't come across offensive cause I was aware that it could come across blunt. I didn't want to mince my words though. I am fully aware that this is a me problem! I recognise that. If you were offended or felt I was being condescending in what I said @mrAPchem then I apologise and own that. I will say though that having a difference of opinion @Femboy.4492 isn't always a bad thing. However I can understand how what I said can be taken the wrong way so for that I apologise.

    To be honest, characters that don't have a lot of combos/sauce or just can't perform that well need some buffs, but I'd honestly emphasize buffs on some other Kameos. I think that would help give players more variety instead of choosing the same ones all of the time. I usually stick with Scorpion Kameo since he has easy combo extenders and can mix you up with his overhead.

      Yes, buffs to unused Kameos and moves rather than nerfs to currently strong ones is the path forward. We don't need more unused Kameos in the game, especially when they don't have to be.

    If they just put a max on using the kameo let's say 3 times in 1 round and after that they can't be called up again in that round.. Then now both players need too think twice using it and you will see more fighting more thinking more footsy more skills... Thats how I would adjust the meta...

      I am not in favor of handcuffing or limiting Kameos, especially when so many moves that could make a Kameo viable already cost too much or recharge at the rate continental drift. There is a middle ground that can be achieved where Kameos are plentiful but do not dominate the neutral. The Sub-Zero Kameo is a perfect example of this.

    I think the only thing I disagree with in this video is "Never play wireless" and I'll bring up some points as to why. Granted, I should mention that while I'm interested in getting better, I'm a super casual player. I don't typically touch Kombat League or Ranked because I just don't care enough about it. 1. Yes, a wired connection is objectively better. However, if your wifi isn't absolute ass, then you can still play just fine. 2. This may sound like complaining, but to be honest, I do think it's a valid criticism for MK1, as much as I love playing it. You mentioned there is no reason not to play wired in 2024. I'd argue there's no reason for wireless matches to be bad to play on in 2024. If Killer Instinct (2013), Guilty Gear Strive, and Street Fighter 6 can function perfectly on wifi, I don't see why MK can't also meet that standard if it's also a 2D fighter. Otherwise, I basically agree with everything else mentioned in the video. By the way, I mean no disrespect on any points I disagree with you on. I enjoy listening to these videos a lot, I just also enjoy adding a different perspective to the conversation. On that final note, variations in MKX were awesome, and I don't care what anyone says lmao. I hope you have a good day, man.

      I always welcome thoughtful points of disagreement/discussion on my video topics, so thank you for taking the time to respectfully disagree. You aren't wrong to note that you can play fine on a wi-fi connection. But when you're trying to learn the game, the idea is to play in matches that emulate offline play as much as possible. Playing wirelessly is the worst way to play - you will be subject to far more stuttering, more input delay, more dropped inputs (which MK1 already has an issue with online anyway) than a wired connection will provide. Playing on wi-fi takes all the game's online issues and amplifies them; and if you happen to have Krossplay enabled, look out because those matches will feel even worse than they currently do. In matches, what this means is it's much tougher to react to things like jump-ins, overheads, teleports. It means that you get hit when you actually blocked, it means that you need to make far more reads vs. reactions because the latter is compromised by the connection. Not to mention that optimal combos are much easier to drop in wi-fi matches, which is never good. And then the worst effect is playing in wi-fi has a negative effect on how you play the game offline. Not only do you develop bad online habits, but it makes you input your combos too quickly, which leads to you making mistakes and dropping combos offline. The reason for this is because wi-fi can never match a wired connection; allowing internet connection to move through the air vs. moving through a wire will always lead to the wi-fi signal losing packets of information that a wired connection wouldn't. It's exactly like the metaphor of the lantern vs. the flashlight that I noted in the video. When making sure an entire household or establishment of people have internet access, wi-fi is optimal for that. But when playing video games online or streaming, a wired connection is optimal for that. Unfortunately, it's mere physics. This doesn't mean that all MK1 wi-fi matches will be inherently bad or cannot be played, but it does mean that you will be much more subject to the aforementioned issues. And between the Big 3 FGs, MK1's online is already the worst, so it would be irresponsible of me to allow people to think that playing the game in a way that makes online worse is somehow okay or not consequential when the opposite is true.
